My entire reason for posting in the first place was to show my slight agitation with people going a little too far when talking about Digweed's hair and this vortex stuff, not to belittle their experiences.
Actually they both do happen together though of course not simultaneously, but that might/is also changing with all these ableton shit.

You have a very simple way of looking at the symbiosis between DJs and producers, and you've also forgotten that most DJs these days produce, vice versa. That's like saying Jeff Mills and Hawtin are just 'playing tunes.' The DJ selects and plays the tunes he likes, the producers hear about it or expeirence people like Digweed weaving their tracks together, so they're ultimately influenced by what they think is THE sound of the moment. How else do you explain the way music and trends have proliferated so much in the past couple of years?

And to say that a DJ, especially someone of Digweed's caliber and status, does not influence or chart music evolution, is again a very straight and narrow appreciation for the scene. Suggest you go read up some Wiki or whatever Dummy's guide you can, or go through Digweed's discography, espeically seminal shit like Renaissance, Northern Exposure, all his GUs, and I just want to add the latest Transitions 4 which I think is really setting a new bar even in the context of his career and mixes he's put out.

True that we're a bit over the top at the moment but don't you ever, ever, go nuts on the floor and dripping sweat and having an aching back and feet because you can't stop and you're thinking WTFWTFWTFWTFWTF?

You give me the impression you listen to music as a sit-down audience or a spectator from a stand. Are you an audience or a participant?

P.S. If you've been following Digweed as long as we have, you'll understand the talk about the hair. We do talk about Tiesto and his underaged wife too if that's more to your palate.

    Think Chloe Harris
    was throwning that term around
    a while back.

    Digweed's hair rules
    so do the shirts
    of course the music
As for the DJ's that are producers
there can be points of trying out new music while DJ'ing
crowd response good, polish up the track for potential release
crowd no like, send it to beatport.
