Luckily he's keeping busy on the side with events and parties which are doing quite well for him as is...still kinda sucks as he was there for about a year.Leave a comment:

Does that mean you are potentially getting laid off or you are def. geting laid off?
My office did its round of lay-offs back in November. They are now lookng as possibly merging with another firm, so my job is secure for the time being. TG!Leave a comment:

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
So I'm in the office today (still here until March 31st)...working on factoring in all of the recent layoffs and transfers into the headcount and salaries/wages forecast. And the neat thing is: since I also handle the Finance divison, I get to forecast my OWN layoff! And then report it to the VP Controller this afternoon!
I just thought that was special.
Happy Friday, everyone!Leave a comment:

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
Thank you! I would be willing to go the consulting route... And I have a US and a EU citizenship, so I would even go abroad if I had to. My biggest thing is... I have a serious girlfriend in the SF Bay area, and so I'm trying for there right now. But everything is on the table, and she might relocate from there, too...I'm a consultant for CSC. We have an SAP practice. Gear your resume toward your SAP experience and check out the site for jobs www.csc.com. That practice is still doing pretty well as far as I know. Might be worth checking out. They have a local office in Cincinnati. Someone who just rolled off the project I'm on, lived in Cleveland. As a consultant, you will have to travel though. I've been lucky enough to be on a local project, but that it is ending soon. PM me if you end up getting a job there.
Doing a quick search turned up quite a few jobs across the country. If your looking for a job, try CSC.
So much to figure out in the next 2 months!
But again...thank you for passing this along. When I figure things out and if I move on it, I'll let you know

And I very much hope that your jobs stay safe and stable. And to all of you who are in my shoes: I feel your pain...stay focused...we'll make it to better times.
I'm a financial analyst. I have a BA in Economics and an MBA with an emphasis in Corporate Finance. Got my MBA from the Fisher College of Business (Ohio State University) in 2008. Never had lower than a 3.7 GPA in any of my studies. I have 5+ years of experience doing various controllership, planning, forecasting, accounting, and SAP implementation activities in the pharmaceutical, retail restaurant, and aviation aircraft industries (vast majority in pharma) - business plans, forecasts, balanced scorecards, month-end close activities, budgets, SAP testing, etc.
I was just recently in a 2-year financial leadership development rotation program for post-MBAs that had me doing stints in different parts of my company: 2 business units, investor relations, corporate treasury. Got cut on the first rotation after watching half my classmates get cut a few months ago.
I should be Six Sigma Green Belt certified by the time I leave here, and I plan on starting another financial certification as soon as I am able (put it on hold when I saw how shaky my job was). If you need a resume, just let me know

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
Thanks, dude. I'll take a look - however, I'm not a CFA, so I'm imagining that may close some of those doors for me... I was actually just very recently preparing to sign up for the Level 1 exam in June... but I stopped when I realized that my job was really on the rocks; didn't want to shell out $1K of fees right now and commit myself to a tough study schedule when I'm probably relocating and doing a full court press job search.oh and miro, have a look for job postings on your local CFA society page. the one here gets several good postings a week, even in this market...

You're a CPA though, right? That is a hell of a good financial cred to have, particularly in these kinds of times... You should be fine.
