Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
i have not been laid off and hopefully wont be anytime soon, but i work off commission and needless to say sales are down. between my ex-wife, who will soon be taking me back to court because she did get laid off and expects me to pay for her lack of income and lack of sales due to economic troubles where my stores are based, i'm making less than half of what i was 6 months ago. still gainfully employed but having to bust my ass to make change compared what i was making. sucks.

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
My performance is in the top 40% of the company. I put the work in to get my performance where I wanted it to be, which is way I'm annoyed about not getting the bonus and pay rise. I will have to look for work elsewhere for the short term. I'm in a final salary pension scheme at work so if I leave it will affect my pay out when I retire. Most company's in the UK scraped final salary pensions a few years back, so hardly any company's offer them any more.Leave a comment:

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
yeah, best advice would be to start showing up early, working a bit late, and asking for more work simply to show that youare vital to your company. if you and another employee can do the same quality, you better do it in 4 days and let your boss know that you are ready for more. cuz if u dont, ur so worker will and if they earn more for the company per time period, they will be the one to keep.Leave a comment:

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
I've been told today that I'm being laid off for another 2 months on 50% pay that's 4 months in total. I will not get my merit pay which I put a lot of effort into earning in the last 12 months. There will be no pay rise and they are not paying me my performance pay. They gave the bankers their bonuses but I'm not getting mine. Fucking sucks.Leave a comment:

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
still with my company for now, but another 1,000 jobs to be cut in January. For those of you who feel secure in your jobs right now, I have only one piece of advice: be very careful. For the foreseeable future, I would be saving at least twice as much as you regularly do, because the ripple effects of entire industries going down in 2009 can have all kinds of effects on your employment that you don't even recognize right now.Leave a comment:

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
At least not this month

Good news here in the mean time: the largest industrial construction group in Belgium offered me a position as HSE manager. With a turnover of 1.6 billion euro in 2007 I think I've landed in a fairly stable company. Gonna tell my boss he can lick my nuts, brb

Re: The Official Layoff Thread!!!
I just got Employee of the Month so I dont think I will be going anywhere anytime soon! I have also decided my company is cheap as fuck and rather than layoff people they fire them for lame reasons. I am assuming it has something to do with being able to collect unemployment...Leave a comment:
